the t-man

ok...I think this is the last of my belated birthday blogs (you liked that alliteration, didn't you?)

I'm writing this during the actual month of the birthday, so I think I'm getting better.

Tyson turned 24 on January 3rd! We celebrated in Prattville before we both had to go back to work on the day of his actual birth. I made him his favorite, continental chicken and since he's not much of a cake fan, we opted for brownies instead!

I was really sad to not be with him on his actual birthday, but really excited to think that every birthday from here on out, will be spent together! None of this travelling 3 hours both ways to spend 2 days together mess...I'm over it.
I wish I was one of those creative people and could think of something cute to do for Tyson's birthday blog, but this is all I've got...

Random T-Man facts

1. He's a really good cook. Like, the other night he sent me a picture of his meal of duck and salad. I said, "oh. That's nice. I had PB & J for supper." Something is wrong with this picture.

2. He can't sit still. It's a really big deal to get him to stop working on whatever his current project is and watch t.v.

3. He's artistic. He drew some pretty impressive sunflowers for me when we were in high school and he just has an artistic eye that comes out of nowhere sometimes. I feel like if you know Tyson, this might be kind of shocking.

4. He despises the color brown. I learned this when we were registering for stuff. I really don't know what to say about this other than it cracks me up. Who knew?

5. He NEVER leaves voicemails. And when he does, he ALWAYS says, "hey...it's just me" precious.

6. He's afraid of having daughters. He knows that he will be wrapped around their little fingers and won't be worth anything. It's true.

7. He's a really good big brother. I think that might be one of the things that made me fall in love with him. The way he loves on and cares for Carson and Larissa is a true reflection of the kind of heart he has.

8. He plays the guitar like a big dog. A lot of people don't know this about him, but he is reaaalllyy good! I just wish I could hear him play more.

9. He is a HUGE outdoorsman. If you didn't know this about Tyson, then you haven't spent very much time with him. He loves doing anything outside and appreciates nature more than anybody I've ever known.

10. His dream is to have is own farm. After he makes the big bucks, that's seriously what he wants to do. I'm down with that as long as there are no tractors in the front yard or chickens near the house. Right, Tyson?

11. Brushing his tongue makes him gag. I made him use a tongue scraper one time and he threw up. My bad.

12. He thinks it's funny to make the lady speak spanish at the self-checkout.

13. His taste in music has changed drastically since I've met him. He used to be all about George Strait, John Mayer, Clint Black, and Dave. Now, it's more like... let me find the most obscure artist and become a hardcore fan. It's ok...I like non-mainstream music.

14. He is VERY particular about the necks of his t-shirts. He freaks out if they're stretched. He thinks it ruins the shirt and once it's stretched, it might as well be trashed. This is also a very good secret weapon when I want him to quit messing with me.

15. He calls everybody "ma'am" and "sir." Sometimes, if we're looking for something at a store, he'll ask questions in incomplete sentences like this..."Ma'am? Toilet Paper?" Ha!

16. He holds the door for ladies and takes his hat off in restaurants...thank you Jesus.

17. He has SUCH good hair! It's been short for a while, but he's growing it out and I love it! Seriously, best hair ever. I hope our kids inherit that good hair gene.

18. He becomes delirious during long shopping trips. This past Christmas we spent an entire day shopping for gifts and I thought he was going to lose his mind. He was great for the first couple of hours, but after a while, he started laughing like a crazy person, the color started to drain from his face and he had to hold on to me to make it from store to store. Bless Him. I guess I should start keeping snacks for him in my purse.

19. He's a really good hugger. This is something we had to work on when we first started dating. I am proud to say that there has been much improvement. We're talking one hand on the head, squeeze as tight as you can kind of hug. Please and thank you.

20. He's the hardest worker ever. I feel like I say this a lot, but seriously. Homeboy don't play. If half the people in this world had his work ethic, we'd be in a much better place.

I could go on forever, but I'm going to make myself stop.

So...Happy Birthday, Tyson!!

I hope your 24th year will be the best!

Who am I kidding? Of course it will...he's marrying me, isn't he?

liserr.

Get crunk for another belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY post...

December 12th was my precious friend, Liserr's birthday! No, her real name is not Liserr. But as far as I'm concerned, it might as well be!

You might remember Liserr as she is a member of the "crew."

The "crew" actually got to all be together on Liserr's birthday this year (unfortunately, this is a rare occasion)! And I actually had the pleasure of celebrating with her twice!

On Saturday night, she had a birthday dinner with her Birmingham friends and since I was in Birmingham this weekend with the fam, I joined in the fun for a little bit! On Sunday, we were all in Auburn for Jenny's shower (more on that later), so all but one of us (we missed you, Jordy!!!) went out to Amsterdam to celebrate Liserr's 24th Birthday!

Lisa and I first got to be friends our freshman year at Auburn. We were the only two out of our group of friends that lived on the hill, so we walked to a lot of little chi-o functions together!

We were also suitemates our sophomore year! She and Meghan shared a bathroom with Jenny and me. And if that's not a bonding experience, I don't know what is!

Lisa (that's her real name) is one of the smartest, most beautiful people I know! She is also very funny! She's one of those people who makes you laugh without really trying to!

I can't imagine my years at Auburn without ol' liserr and I'm so blessed to be able to call her one of my dearest friends!

Oh yeah....she also just happens to be one of the very special ladies that will be standing beside me on June 11th!

Lisa and I just got back from Arizona for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! While we were there, I believe we created my 2 most favorite pictures of Liserr...ever.

So....

HAPPY belated, I'm sorry I'm so sketchy, I will try to do better BIRTHDAY!!

I'm so glad you were born!

perrino.

Well, as I have said before, I'm a little behind on blogging due to my internet/photo situation. I've had a very special birthday to recognize for over a month, but I've been putting it off, thinking I would get some proper visuals over the break. Believe it or not, I am a slacker and did not get all my pictures off of my old computer. Instead of waiting until the birthday girl is 25 1/2, I decided to just go ahead and bite the bullet. Maybe next year's will be better...

On Novemeber 24th, my Perrino <aka> Perryn turned 25!!!!!

I had to steal these pictures off of her blog. I hope y'all don't think that's sketchy. I just needed everybody to see how precious and dear she is.

Perryn was in the pledge class above me, so I was initially a little scared of her. But as we got to know each other, she became one of my most very favorite things about chi-o!

I wish I could remember all the details of how our friendship really came to be, but basically, Jenny and I just decided that we should be friends with Perryn and her really good friend, Ro Lynn <aka> Rose Lynn. We call ourselves "four friends" and even though the four of us haven't been together in waaaaay too long, the connection is still there! We had "four friend" dinners, "four friend" birthday parties, and I'm still waiting on the "four friends" trip to NYC.

Perryn is not really into hugging, which can kind of be a problem if you're friends with me and Jenny. She has come LEAPS and BOUNDS since our friendship began...so proud! Come to think of it, I would really like to have a Perryn hug right about now.

The peak of "four friends" was definitely when we lived in the chi-o dorm! Jenny and I went to Perryn for everything!! I honestly don't know what we would have done without her sweet advice! She took such good care of us! I distinctly remeber several occassions where Jenny and I cried (sometimes literally), "I need Perryn!!"

Perrino is also quite the prankster. You wouldn't think that just looking at her, but let me tell you...she has got some pretty legit stuff up her sleeve. Before we even became "four friends", Perrino and Ro Lynn messed up my bed in  so I thought somebody had broken in and slept there! She also put a feminine product with ketchup smeared all over it on our door...we refused to take it down until she confessed. I have a special love for penguins and have quite the childish collection of figurines, stuffed animals, and pajamas...well, one day, Perryn took it upon herself to steal ALL of my penguin memoribila. rude. ttthhhheeeenn ( I can't believe I almost forgot about this one) Perryn got a hold of one of my haneous middle school pictures. We're talking braces, bushy eyebrows, jacked-up make up application, frizzy hair, with a diploma in the hand. After stealing the picture from a mutual family friend's refrigerator (FIRST offense!!!), she put it as her profile picture on facebook. The fact that I still love her after that is a sign of true friendship.
I wish I could say that I've gotten her back for all these pranks, but the truth of the matter is, she's impossible to beat. Jenny and I did try to get her back since she's lived in NYC, but I still don't think we're up to par.

Speaking of NYC, one of my most favorite Perrino memories is when Jenny and I saved up our coins (literally) to go visit her while she was doing an internship one summer. Our NYC trip in general is probably one of my most favorite life memories. We spent an embarassing amount of time at Ellen's Diner, swooning over our waiter who was definitely not interested in us or anybody like us for that matter. We saw RENT from the first and second rows and came back to our hotel room and enjoyed some post-show entertainment involving Perryn and one swift leap onto the bed.

Here's a picture from the LAST time I saw Perryn! My mom and I were in NYC last January, so I got to hang out with her some! Apparently, we thought the subway would be an appropriate place for a picture :) And yes, I do realize I look like I'm with child. It was cold and I was bundled up...don't judge.

Wow. I really just planned on saying, "Happy Birthday, Perryn! I love you", but I guess I got a little carried away!

Buttttt.......

Happy (very, very, very, embarassingly belated) Birthday, Perrino!!!!!
