Big Apple Pear

I'm sorry. I don't know how to do that upside down e thing.

If you are a loyal follower of anditshoisahappday, you will have alread met my friend, Perryn.
I've always known that Perrino was extremely creative and talented...but I must say thatt her new endeavor has far exceeded my expectations.

She has started designing and selling paper goods that are just about the cutest things you've ever seen!

If you need anything like invitations or save the dates or programs printed, you should definitely check her out!

So far, she's done a baby shower and bridal invitation for me! I gave her the basic information and her creative genius just took over. She came up with proofs, I picked my favorite, she shipped them to me in such a delightful little package, and I mailed out some adorable invitations.

Here's how they were packaged...such a nice touch!!

And here are the finished products...

Don't lie. You know those are the cutest invitations you've ever seen. So, forreal. If you need something like this done, you better go with Big Apple Pear (with the upside down e). You will not be disappointed! I promise!!

self control.

yeahhhh....I have none.

I got these cookies yesterday. 2 boxes in 2 days...seriously?!?

What is my problem?

Happy Birthday, Jenny!

Along with showers, parties, and other wedding preperations, we must NOT forget that it was Jenny's birthday a few Sundays ago! Sunday, February 6th to be exact.

I'm so grateful that I got to celebrate with her because who knows when we'll be together for our birthdays again. On Sunday, I headed to Montgomery to join in a family celebration complete with cake and ice cream! And on Monday, I met Jenny and some friends at Outback in Auburn to finish off the birthday celebration!

Of course, I've been struggling with what to do for Jenny's birthday blog. I've wanted it to be especially good, but what little creative juices I might possess are running dry. So, here's the deal. I'm doing a Heart Friends Top 10 list. Now, I know that Heart Friends and Jenny's birthday aren't really the same thing, but without Jenny's birth, there would be no heart friends. So there.

Here we go....

Heart Friends Top 10
in no particular order

  1. holding hands and crying through RENT and Les Mis in NYC
  2. eating half a birthday cake for Saturday morning breakfast in the dorm
  3. Georgia game '06
  4. full out concert at 662 after a night at Outback with Uncle J
  5. laying in Jenny's bed in the dorm, quoting 'Steel Magnolias'
  6. sitting alone at The Swamp and introducing ourselves with fake names ("...jenny...")
  7. "cuckoo"ing out the dorm room window

God must have spent a little more time on you....

Now. I don't mean for the title of this blog to be sacreligious or to make light of the beloved N*SYNC masterpiece, but I seriously might have found my new favorite thing in the world.

After an unfortunate and quite smelly incident this weekend, I had to make an emergency run to wal-mart to get the rankness out of my apartment. I walked in the doors with a sour attitude, but walked out with a new outlook on life. This stuff is amaaaazing!!

I don't normally like smell-good stuff because it's too strong and ends up giving me a headache. I have, however, always loved the smell of fresh laundry. And because I only actually do laundry when it's absolutely necessary, this little baby right here is my new best friend. It really is just glorious. So glorious that I might go back today and get all the products that it offers...

and it sho is a happy day...

My Best Friend's Wedding: The Club

So...it's getting hard for me to deny reality. Don't worry, I'm still making it work, but it's getting harder and harder. This past Saturday was exactly a MONTH from my Boo Boo's wedding!!! This past Saturday was also her very last wedding shower. This was it. The next shower I give her will be when she has a child growing inside of her and I really can't go there right now. I'm struggling enough as it is. I'm sorry....I digress.

We had an Around the House shower for Jenny on Saturday at The (you really have to emphasize the "the"....it's not a joke....they don't play) Club in Birmingham. The weather was gorgeous, the food was yum, the company was delightful, and the whole afternoon was just pretty much loverly (thank you, Eliza).

Door Mat!! That's a "B". For "Barranco". Because that's going to be her name. Because she's getting married.

Bath Mat....get crunk! It's amazing the things that excite you once you're getting married.

Opening her kitchen aid mixer!! I might have been just excited as she was!!

Auburn High School picture...'05!! Represent.

The view

The Suite. I promise I'm not high. I was having a little trouble keeping my eyes open in the sun. They're sensitive.

Heart Friends Fo Life. I really enjoy this picture of us.

Sisters!!

Hot mama...checking out the view!

My Best Friend's Wedding: The Fiesta

A couple of weeks ago, two of Jenny's friends, who are now my friends too (duh), threw her a really fun his and hers shower!

The theme was fiesta, so there was lots of yummy food and margaritas! There was even a pinata!

My camera battery died, so the only pictures I have are of the pinata and those aren't very good, but here is what I do have...enjoy!

I believe this is Andy's (aka A-man...aka Snoop) first time on anditshoisahappyday...welcome!!

...baby mason...

One of my very best childhood friends, Ashley, is prego!! I can't believe that she's having a baby, but I know she is going to be the best, most adorable little mommy around!

We had a shower for her a couple of weekends ago and it was so nice to celebrate her and little baby Mason! I can NOT wait to meet the little man and I know she and Kyle are more than ready for him to make his big debut!

Letters for Mason's nursery!!

Yaaaay! Presents!! Mason really racked up!

Is she not the cutest little pregnant thing you ever saw?

Me and Ash feeding her sister's twin girls. Our moms kept saying it was like we were playing dolls...except Ashley and I never played dolls together. We were more interested in things like football and softball, thank you very much.

Ashley and I have been friends literally since we were born. I know that sounds odd, but our families have so many little connections that it's the truth. Our parents were in lamaz class together; my mom taught her older sister in kindergarten; my sister and her sister are only a few weeks apart; Ashley and her twin brother, Bobby, and I are only a few weeks apart; my mom taught Bobby in kindergarten; and Ashley and I were pretty much attached at the hip during our middle school years.

So when I say that Ashley and I have been friends forever, it's not an exaggeration! I've been so blessed by her friendship over the years and I'm soooo very excited to watch her become a mommy!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

I hope everybody's lovin' on something today...

My Best Friend's Wedding: The Bachelorette Party

The weekend of January 21st through January 23rd is a weekend that will not soon be forgotten.

As you know, Jenny is getting married SOON and we did our best to make her bachelorette party one for the books!

Her sister, Toni, was the mastermind behind this shin dig and let me tell you, honey did work. She thought of everything and worked so hard to make it a weekend to remember!

After months of phone conversations, reserving, cancelling, emailing, and confirming, the long-awaited Friday was finally here! For me, the day seemed to last FOREVER! I was so excited, I could hardly concentrate! Toni and Jenny came to get me right after my last class left. We piled (literally) into the car and made our way to the ham.

We got to the Embassy Suites (sooo nice! Who needs THE Ross Bridge?), got settled, and hit the ground running.

Our next stop was Sips n' Strokes. There were about 13 girls there to help get the weekend started! We ate some appetizers, drank some wine, got to be friends with our instructor, Collin, and did our best to create a piece of art.

After some sippin' and some strokin', we headed to Innisfree. Jenny boogied until she just couldn't boogie anymore. We finally headed back to our home for the weekend to get about 4 hours of sleep.

The next morning, we woke up and frantically got ready for the Bridesmaid's Luncheon at Chez Lu Lu. I loved the atmosphere of this place and the food was DELISH!

After our tummies had some much-needed nourishment, we kicked Jenny out and got ready for the lingerie shower that evening. Toni, Lindsey (Jenny's sister in law), and I decorated, got food ready, and took care of final details before everybody showed up looking adorable in their pajamas. Saturday night was pretty epic and I think it would be safe to say that we left nothing out when it comes to throwing a bachelorette party.

We woke up slowly on Sunday morning, ate breakfast at the hotel and made our way back home, where I immediately climbed into the bed and caught up on some sleep. Actually, I think my body might still be trying to catch up.

It still isn't real to me that Jenny is getting married. I thought maybe this weekend would do it. But in my mind, it was just a party. I was so happy that we could all get together to show Jenny some love before she goes off and becomes a married woman!
