Light Has Come

Now, I am not a hand-raiser. But if I was, you better believe they would be up for this one. Halleluiah and enjoy!

Meghan!!

Get excited...ANOTHER birthday post!

June 3rd was sweet, sweet precious Meghan Benak's birthday!

Meghan and I met during our freshman year at Auburn, she was one of my first "college friends."

Meghan is seriously one of the most genuine, kind, and gracious person on the face of this earth. Anybody who has ever met her will agree with me.

I have confirmed evidence that she is in fact and Angel. However, this is not my story to tell, so I better leave that to the source.

Meghan is from Dothan, Alabama and is the best Peanut Festival tour guide there is!

Meghan is super, super smart and I KNOW that she will do great things in this world!

If you've ever met Meghan and haven't gotten to know her really well, this might shock you. Homegirl loves her some rap music. And I'm not just talking sings along to the part that everybody knows, but can rap right along with the best of them!

Meghan is also a great music lover. She is always discovering new aritsts! She and Tyson have pretty much identical tastes in music!

Meghan was also one of the special girls that stood beside me when I said "I do"...couldn't have imagined doing it without her up there too!

Happy (very, very belated) Birthday, Sweet Meggie! Love you so, so much and I'm so glad we're friends!!

CATHERINE

April 18th was my sweet, sweet Cathy's birthday!'

Cathy is the second one from the right...beautiful!

Catherine and I met through Chi O our freshman year at Auburn. We kind of got to know each other because we shared an "owl pal" one week, but we really started to be friends over Spring Break. 6 of us kind of randomly got together and planned a beach trip, this group of 6 later became known as 'the crew'.

she's right smack dab in the middle in this one. isn't she adorable? i mean, look at that hat.

Catherine is one of those people that is just beautiful inside and out. She's super smart, super cute, and super talented! She really is so creative and artistic! I wish I had just an ounce of her ability.

She is currently teaching English at Drake Middle School in Auburn. I actually went to Drake for 5th grade, so it's kind of crazy to think that she's teaching where I went to school...talk about full circle! Anyway, I'm sure she is the most amazing english teacher! I know all the kids love her and think she's the coolest teacher ever...I know I would!

she's the one in the cute pink dress...that she got from London...because she studied there for a summer...because she's cool like that.

Cathy read some scripture during our wedding ceremony in June! So, so happy that she could be a part of that day! I'll remember it forever!

I hope you had the happiest of birthdays (in April), Cathy!!! You sure do deserve it!!

I love Ro Lynn

So, during the chaos that became my life from about March-June, I missed a bunch of birthdays. One of those birthdays was Miss Rose Lynn Farmer, or as I like to call her, "Ro Lynn".

If you've been keeping up with this little blog, you've already been introduced to Ro Lynn when we celebrated Perryn's birthday. We met through Chi O and quickly named ourselves "four friends".

Rose Lynn is one of the sweetest, kindest, most hilarious (especially when she's not trying to be) people I know.

She recently graduated from pharmacy school and I think it's pretty safe to say that she's  currently the cutest pharmacist on the planet.

Rose Lynn was also a candle lighter at our wedding! I was so happy and honored to have her be a part of our special day!

I love you, Ro Lynn!! I hope your 25th year is fabulous!!

MB is 24 and 5 months!!!

Ok...I had to make that sound exciting because I'm so behind on my happy birthdays! And just for the record, I think I was way too ambitious on this birthday blogging. I'm feeling a lot of pressure to catch up and not leave anybody out. Next year, we're keeping it simple.

This was us at a Celine Dion concert that was maybe a life-changing experience...so good!!

one of my favorite pictures of us. I feel like it's a very accurate illustration of our friendship. Also one of our 2,568 football game pictures because we had to get at least one at every game we ever went to...it only makes sense, right?

Here are a few important MB facts to help us remember her 24 years...and 5 months.

1. I have had several nicknames for Mary Beth through the years: Lil Lits, MB, ME (stole that one from 'Any Day Now' on lifetime with Annie Potts), Mama Lits...just to name a few

2. Mary Beth and I really enjoyed dressing alike in our younger years. Maybe that's normal and maybe it's not, but we rocked it. And not only did we dress alike, but our dolls did as well. I'm really wishing I had access to a scanner right now so I could show y'all some pictures. Maybe one day, it's some serious stuff.

preeety sure this was high school. holy cow. we're old.

3. MB and I spent the majority of our weekends together (the ones when I wasn't grounded) from about 3rd grade on. This weekends included seances (please don't think I'm a devil-worshipper, we just wanted to bring princess Di back), camping trips, lake trips, countless hours with our American Girl Dolls, football games, MYF, scary movie watching...I could go on and on, but I don't want to risk getting the carpel tunnel.

4. MB is a Special Education teacher and is excellent at what she does. This is one of those situations where you know this is her calling. I've never seen her more sure or confident about anything in all of our years :)

5. Mary Beth and I lived together 3 out of my 5 years in college. One year in the same room. 2 years in the same house.

6. We raised 3 beautiful fish together in our dorm room: Sonic Ice, Honkey, and Mufasa. Mary Beth was a good sport for playing along with my need to nurture something.

7. Not only were MB and I the best of friends, our families got to be great friends too, which is really neat. I honestly felt like a member of her family and she did with ours as well.

8. Mary Beth has always taken care of me whether it be putting my game day tattoo on or helping me decide what to wear. Hence the "mama lits" nickname.

9. My dear, dear beloved Heidi also loves Mary Beth so very much. She's generally a pretty loving dog, but she and MB have something special. Maybe it has something to do with her being there when Heidi made her debut into my life :)

10. I was honored to have Mary Beth standing beside me on the most important day of my life thus far. Who would have thought that the girl that "made me itch" would be one of my bridesmaids and dearest friends.

Sooooo....happy, happy, MB!!! I'm so very glad you were born! My growing up years would have been way too boring without you!!

Tailgate and Celebrate

Like I said, we'll be doing a little rewinding until I get caught up. In this case, we're going to rewind back to November...shameful, I know.

Our first wedding festivity was a tailgate party hosted by Jenny (with the help of several others)! It was the Friday night before a football game and it really was just like a tailgate! So fun!

Here's a picture of the invitation...

Didn't she do a good job! So cute!

Y'all know that's ballin'

We still have this sign...made by my most artistic friend, Cathy!

Check out that giant Aubie. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get any more legit than that!

Such an awesome job, Boo Boo!! Best tailgate party ever!!

 With my groom :)

recent events

I'm doing my best to hit rewind and blog about events in the order they occured. However, I feel kind of silly leaving out some pretty major things that have happened in the past couple of months. I will blog about these things in more detail later, but just for the record....

We got married.

Went on a honeymoon.

Moved away.

And got a house.

More details on all of this later. So don't go gettin' your panties in a wad.

baby mason

Remember that post about Ashley's baby shower?

You were getting a little concerned, weren't you?

Well...no worries. Baby Mason made his debut 4 months ago and I'm a loser for not posting about it until now. With all the wedding festivities, I've been able to see him several times and he is absolutely, one hundred percent, adorable!! It's still hard for me to believe that one of my best friends is a mommy...and she's so good at it!! Ash and Kyle are some pretty proud parents and they certainly have a right to be!

I'll let you see for yourself...

P.S. I stole most of these from facebook because I'm a creeper.

beautiful!

sweetest little family

Happy Birthday, Sistuh!!

March 19th was Elizabeth's birthday!! I was flying back from Chicago on her actual birthday-day, but I do believe she was spoiled with a serious shopping spree...good for her!

I always have bigger expectations for my birthday posts than are possible, but I'll do the best I can.

Here are some sister moments that I would like for us to reflect upon...

1. Sunday scraps
2. trying to harmonize to "Oklahoma", but getting tickled everytime and having to run it back
3. straight up emotional breakdowns when Eliz went to London and to college

4. acting the fool in Atlanta traffic
5. earning a pair of cross earrings and a Celine Dion CD for eating a cat treart
6. Eliz carrying me up our LONG driveway after I broke my leg

7. having to "go to the bathroom" when it was time to clean the kitchen
8. fights with tacky ladies at Disney World
9. DISNEY WORLD in general....when are we going back?

10. pretending to speak a different language in the pool at Bay Point
11. "quiet time" at Aunt Rachel's
12. Easter Egg Hunts (indoor AND outdoor) until an age that I will not disclose for both of our sakes

13. Bribing me to play Trivial Pursuit when I had no idea what most of the questions were even talking about..."the human race"
14. Still Waters
15. Dixie Chicks concerts

16. Watching movies and almost always falling asleep, but not to worry...Eliz would always say "are you asleep?!?!" until I sat back up for my second wind.
17. learning practically every song she ever sang in show choir/choir/Jr. Miss

18. Memorizing Eliz's yearbooks ( I don't know why I did this. I know people from her high school days that she doesn't even know...this is not healthy. Just one more way I was trying to be like her, I guess.)
19. a real precious collage she made me of pictures and quotes when I graduated high school
20. Eliz agreeing to let me get my ears pierced when I was 8 even though she had to be 13 before she got hers pierced.

So even though it's real, real late, I hope you had the happiest of birthdays, Eliz!!

...and it sho is a happy day
