Ok...I had to make that sound exciting because I'm so behind on my happy birthdays! And just for the record, I think I was way too ambitious on this birthday blogging. I'm feeling a lot of pressure to catch up and not leave anybody out. Next year, we're keeping it simple.
This was us at a Celine Dion concert that was maybe a life-changing experience...so good!!
one of my favorite pictures of us. I feel like it's a very accurate illustration of our friendship. Also one of our 2,568 football game pictures because we had to get at least one at every game we ever went to...it only makes sense, right?
Here are a few important MB facts to help us remember her 24 years...and 5 months.
1. I have had several nicknames for Mary Beth through the years: Lil Lits, MB, ME (stole that one from 'Any Day Now' on lifetime with Annie Potts), Mama Lits...just to name a few
2. Mary Beth and I
really enjoyed dressing alike in our younger years. Maybe that's normal and maybe it's not, but we rocked it. And not only did we dress alike, but our dolls did as well. I'm really wishing I had access to a scanner right now so I could show y'all some pictures. Maybe one day, it's some serious stuff.
preeety sure this was high school. holy cow. we're old.
3. MB and I spent the majority of our weekends together (the ones when I wasn't grounded) from about 3rd grade on. This weekends included seances (please don't think I'm a devil-worshipper, we just wanted to bring princess Di back), camping trips, lake trips, countless hours with our American Girl Dolls, football games, MYF, scary movie watching...I could go on and on, but I don't want to risk getting the carpel tunnel.
4. MB is a Special Education teacher and is excellent at what she does. This is one of those situations where you know this is her calling. I've never seen her more sure or confident about anything in all of our years :)
5. Mary Beth and I lived together 3 out of my 5 years in college. One year in the same room. 2 years in the same house.
6. We raised 3 beautiful fish together in our dorm room: Sonic Ice, Honkey, and Mufasa. Mary Beth was a good sport for playing along with my need to nurture something.
7. Not only were MB and I the best of friends, our families got to be great friends too, which is really neat. I honestly felt like a member of her family and she did with ours as well.
8. Mary Beth has always taken care of me whether it be putting my game day tattoo on or helping me decide what to wear. Hence the "mama lits" nickname.
9. My dear, dear beloved Heidi also loves Mary Beth so very much. She's generally a pretty loving dog, but she and MB have something special. Maybe it has something to do with her being there when Heidi made her debut into my life :)
10. I was honored to have Mary Beth standing beside me on the most important day of my life thus far. Who would have thought that the girl that "made me itch" would be one of my bridesmaids and dearest friends.
Sooooo....happy, happy, MB!!! I'm so very glad you were born! My growing up years would have been way too boring without you!!
